President Qin's Little Wife Is The Strongest

Chapter 220: Ready To Settle

Days passed, and Rong Yue finally felt that she was ready to talk to her mother.

In the last two days, the tension in the house was sharp enough to cut through glass.

Since she was working on the Jewelry warehouse launch, she would go out early and only come back later in the evening.

Lu San and Manager Fang Mo also worked even harder than her.

"Has the food box been sent over?" She asked as she entered the already warmed-up car.

"Yes, Young Miss. It was delivered some minutes ago." The food place was the one that Qin Yichen had arranged to take care of her meals some months ago.

However, in the last two days, Rong Yue only ate fruits or took tea anytime she was in the office. Although Lu San had no idea what she ate anytime she returned back home, he could tell that she wasn't eating well.

It had only been two days but she had lost feasible weight. Even though Rong Yue wasn't chatty before, he could still tell that she seemed more withdrawn in the last few days.

Even though he was being observant because he was ordered to, Lu San was also human and Rong Yue had always treated him well so he couldn't help but worry about her.

Now that she was willing to eat, he went all out and ordered many delicacies for her.

After getting a reply, Rong Yue mumbled a thank you and then leaned against the car door.

The entire ride back home was silent like always and Rong Yue slept through it.

Unlike her reaction anytime Qin Yichen was in the car, Rong Yue woke up with high alertness the moment the car stopped at the estate.

Wu Hao had taken Rong Yue's offer and was now staying in the penthouse opposite with Lu San, since it had two rooms, the both of them shared a room.

Lu San dropped a smaller sized box in front of his own apartment and then carried the big sized box with Rong Yue.

Since Rong Yue was back home, Rong Xia would come home directly after work. Like today, it was clear to see that she had come back for a while.

Also, the pain in her eyes as she watched Rong Yue was easy for anyone to see.

"I bought dinner for the both of us," Rong Yue announced as soon as Lu San left.

It was just a simple statement but Rong Xia's reaction to it was dramatic.

The tea cup in her hand shook, revealing the shock she had gotten from that statement.

"Yue'er, have you forgiven me?" She asked as she rushed forward. Her hands grabbed Rong Yue's hands.

Rong Yue shook her head and stepped back slightly.

"I'm giving you a chance for me to forgive you. But you have to tell me everything."

On hearing this, Rong Xia's expression flickered and it was easy to see that she was in a struggle regarding Rong Yue's request.

But after some minutes, she nodded her head with resolution.

"You are even more important to me than my own life. As long as you would forgive me, I'll tell you everything that has happened and might happen."

"Yue'er, it was not my intention to deliberately trick you or make you go through so much pain and hard work.

But, back then, I had no choice. You were too young to understand the complexities of the matter."

"And then, when you grew older, I couldn't bear to tell you even more."

"Yue'er, since you were a child, you have had to grow up without a family. Although I was there with you, I couldn't do the things that normal parents did with their kids."

"When you grew older, I felt that you didn't deserve to know the things I was dealing with, after all, if you know about it, it would only make you to have another matter in your heart."

Hearing her mother's words, Rong Yue was unable to maintain her indifference and her eyes glistened with emotion.

She could understand what she was saying. Since she was younger, she had to keep her eye out for jobs and any competition that could give them money.

She would also worry that people would insult her mother or ridicule her. So after a while, she stopped her mother from working.

Although that meant that they had to move to an even worse neighborhood, she didn't mind because her mother would not have to be insulted all the time.

This was why, when she realized that she had been doing everything for naught, her mind was unable to bear it.

What made it even more unbearable was, now that she knew her mother was fine, she found out that she couldn't understand why her mother had died about five years from now.

With all those questions hanging on her mind, Rong Yue's mood was dark and heavy.

But now, hearing things from that perspective, she couldn't help but understand her mother. But, in the end, she said nothing. Allowing her mother to continue.

"Yue'er, let's sit down, after all, this is going to be a long story. But I'll tell you everything from the beginning." Saying that, Rong Xia pulled Rong Yue to the kitchen island and pulled a chair out for Rong Yue to sit down.

At the same time, she opened the box of food that Lu San had dropped.

"You haven't eaten a proper meal in the last two days. Let me serve you, I'll tell you while we eat."

Rong Yue nodded gently, the anger in her heart could be said to be greatly reduced.

As the aroma of the food wafted into the room, her face relaxed even more and she couldn't help but smile softly.

In the end, she was still someone that cherished food more than anything else.

At the same time, a certain young master was smiling as he read the report from Lu San.

Knowing that she had ordered some food, he could guess that Rong Yue was ready to make up with her mother.

"If she knows what's best for her, she would open up and tell her everything…"
