Chapter 104: Chapter 104: Ruby Rose, Wizard of Oz, Yang



[3rd POV]

Looking at Ruby, Gwen had an amused eyebrow raised as the girl coughed and spoke "S- Sorry! I uh, I wasn't looking where I was going!"

"It's alright..." "Ruby" "It's alright, Ruby" Gwen replied, but not before getting the girls name (to keep up appearances and all).

"Where are you off to in such a hurry?" Artemis asked on the side, causing Ruby to look to her before looking to the side in embarrassment.

"The auditorium, but uh...I don't know where it is" Ruby said, embarrassed.

"My sister was supposed to show me, but she sort of ditched me, and then I met a rich girl

who I sorta blew up, and then I ran into you" Ruby added, causing Gwen to raise an eyebrow, before humming in thought.

"Why not come with us then? We're on our ways there now" Gwen offered, causing Ruby's mood to brighten as she nodded.

"Sure! If its not a problem, at least" Ruby said, which Gwen just chuckled to.

"It's not a problem Ruby, really. Now cmon, let's get to the auditorium so we're not too late" Gwen said, causing Ruby to smile before walking after her, inwardly happy that she might have found her first new friend.

"Oh, and Ruby?" Gwen said, causing the shorter girl to turn to her.

"My names Gwen"

Walking into a large assembly room Gwen noticed the good amount of other students in the room, but most notably, she noticed the three others that would make up team RWBY.

Yang Xiao Long, Ruby's older half sister. She had the semblance known as "Burn" which allows her to absorb the kinetic energy of blows laid against her, and then use that energy to strengthen herself. From what Gwen could tell, Ruby was a bit older than in canon, 17 to be exact, while Yang was roughly 9 months older or so, nearly 18. Which meant that there was a good chance Tai (their father) had either cheated, or Raven, Yang's mother, had left immediately after having her.

Blake Belladonna, a faunus who was an ex member of the white fang, a once peaceful faunus organization that eventually became terrorists. She has the semblance "Shadow" that allows her to create shadow clones of herself.

Weiss Schnee, the final member of the team, and a bit of an arrogant girl. She was born into the Schnee family, a rich family that produced a vast amount of the dust that everyone uses, gotten from mines, mines that were mined by faunus that were pretty much their slaves. Weiss has the semblance "Glyphs" that had a wide range of use.

There was some others of note, but none that Gwen cared too much about.

"There's my sister, I'm gonna go and talk to her" Ruby said before walking off to Yang, while the group of 5 just watched her walk off.

"Didn't think I'd see someone else with eyes like yours" Artemis commented, noticing that Ruby had silver eyes similar to Gwen's own eyes.

"She's probably the last person on this planet with them, besides maybe one or two others. In this world they're pretty special, as they are magical in nature" Gwen replied, causing the group to look at her with raised eyebrows.

"Magical how?" Raven asked.

"They're connected to the light god, so, they're pretty good at atomizing grimm from existence. They've got some other affects, but their main ones are being strong against grimm" Gwen replied, shrugging. As the silver eyes didn't really do a ton fo her, besides giving her cool looking eyes.

They didn't continue as a man began to speak over the mic. The man being Ozpin, also known as Ozma. He was an ancient man that was cursed to live forever, alongside Salem, the Queen of Grimm. While he didn't have a semblance, he did have magic, albeit weak in comparison to Gwen's or Raven's. He was also the headmaster of Beacon.

Next to him was the Headmistress of the school, and the teacher of combat at the school, Glynda Goodwitch. Her semblance was "Telekinesis" which does exactly as it sounds.

"I'll keep this brief. You have traveled here today in search of knowledge, to hone your craft and acquire new skills, and when you're finished, you plan to dedicate your life to the protection of the people. But, I look amongst you and all I see is wasted energy in need of purpose, direction. You assume knowledge will free you of this, but your time at this school will prove that knowledge can only carry you so far. It is up to you to take the first step" Ozpin spoke, before stepping to the side, allowing Glynda to walk to the mike.

"You will gather in the barn tonight, tomorrow your initiation begins. Be ready. You are dismissed" Glynda spoke, as Gwen just listened to what Ozpin said, deadpanning.

"He was certainly...unique" M'gann said on the side with an awkward smile, while Korra snorted.

"Yeah that's an understatement" Korra replied.

Wizard of Oz

"Oh, hey Gwen, this is my sister, Yang!" Ruby's voice cut in, causing them to turn, finding the somewhat tall 5'8 blonde haired girl standing next to the much shorter 5'2 Ruby, who had a smile on her face.

"Nice to meet my sisters new friend" Yang said with a small grin, offering Gwen her hand, which she shook.

"Nice to meet you too, Yang" Gwen replied, shaking the girls hand. Ruby watched the interaction with a smile, happy that her sister wasn't harassing her new friend or anything. Even more so, she was happy her sister wasn't asking about Gwen's unique faunus features. "So, you've got silver eyes like my sister, huh. Didn't think there were other people out there with them" Yang commented, causing Gwen to hum.

"As far as I know, Ruby and I are the last people with them. At least, from what I've seen. I haven't been to Atlas or anything, so I'm not entirely certain about that though" Gwen replied, hearing this, Yang raised an eyebrow.

"What, is there something special about them or something? They're just eyes, aren't they?" Yang asked, which got Gwen to crack a small smile.

"Not sure, but I imagine they aren't completely normal. Afterall, why else would they be so uncommon?" Gwen replied, as Ruby looked more and more confused, wondering if her eyes really were that special or not.

"So, Ruby, who do you want to be on a team with?" Artemis asked on the side, causing Ruby

to smile.

"Either you or Gwen!" Ruby said instantly, causing Gwen to raise an eyebrow, while Yang

sighed.

"Sis, you gotta get out there more, meet new people, not just me. And no, Gwen doesn't count, as I'm pretty sure she wants to be in a team with one of her girlfriends" Yang replied, which Ruby blinked at, while Gwen's raised eyebrow went higher.

"What? It was kinda obvious" Yang said as they all looked at her in slight surprise.

"Guess your smarter than I thought" Gwen muttered, causing Yang to look at her.

"I'll have you know that I was one of the best kids in my school, thank you very much!" Yang said with a huff, which Ruby giggled at, ignoring the fact that Gwen had other girlfriends.

Looking over the group, Gwen looked around before speaking.

"So...what are we going to do now?"

Basically another intermission chapter with her just meeting Yang and talking with Ruby properly. Next chapter will be roughly the same, with the chapter after having some genuine combat. I also plan on doing a double upload soon, to make up for the quality of the last

couple of chapters.
