He finally realized something.

'We have to get 5 levels of very skill till the time limit... which is 4 months... Fuck" Lucas sighed inwardly, he was on the night shift taking care of the others while they slept like a log.

At first, everyone had some small trouble sleeping in these unsafe situations. But with time, they started to loosen up thinking that they were actually protected while they were sleeping.

Lucas was tensed with this information that he just realized, he may have only needed to level his skills up to five but he was getting more and more skills as the days passed.

In the beginning, when he had only two skills, it would have been alright but now he had many, and getting all of them to level five would take all his attention.

The most ridiculous thing that made him wonder whether to laugh or cry was that he was obligated to upgrade his shelter three more times till the end of the four months.

All the sleepiness had washed away and Lucas planned to have an all-nighter.

'Now that everyone is trained to fight, even Barney helped with the Coyate's subjugation. I think we can get past the 'Survival' easily. I mean, we have the numbers!'

Lucas looked at all his skills and thought that the easiest one to level up would be the extremely common 'Punch'. Now that he thought about it, he found it funny that with all the time he had been here and killed many wired creatures.

There had not been a single time where he punched someone. It was a skill that he got from the very start just like Sarah who had the 'Sprint' skill with the Fireball.

Lucas decided to take time and try to level up each of his skills. The 24-hour cooldown was going to go away soon and he would be able to talk with his mother and sister again.

'Psh... Now I don't have to worry if they are alive or not at least.' Lucas thought while looking at their names.

In all these days, he finally found a single feature in the system of 'Talk' where Lucas could see if a person in his list of blood relatives was alive or not.

At first, the list had hundreds of names, some he knew while some he did not have ever heard but with time, some of the names that he did not know or cared about started getting dim.

Lucas could not talk with these people whose names had dimmed because they had already died.

He did not become sad as the most important people in his whole life were only three. His dad, mom, and dear sister. Nobody else other than the group he was in currently mattered to him.

Lucas took his time to look at each and everything while making some plan for each of them. The 'Punch' was already taken care of. The 'Unarmed Combat' could also be leveled up by sparring with some of the guys in the group with time.

The 'Herbalism' had already been upgraded once till now and he knew how to upgrade it again.

The shelter... Lucas was too disheartened to look at the requirement that could be seen right at the corner where the usual blue dot was located.

Lucas looked out of the bare window and looked at the various stars which numbered more than hundreds.

This star gazing was not possible at first due to all the trees that restricted even the bare minimum solar energy to come down before.

But after the upgrade, many tall trees had poofed out of existence which Lucas still wondered as to where all the material had gone. It was not all given as a resource to the shelter, that he was sure about.

But that matter was not something he had his hands on anyway so he dropped the topic from his mind and focused on the ones that he needed to do or his lifespan would only be four months more and the grave was ready to toss his body into.

He opened his skill section again and marveled as to what to do with many of them.

Before he could run his thoughts again, a hand tapped on his shoulder. He looked up and found that John was up.

He made some hand signals meaning that Lucas could now sleep but Lucas just shook his head which made John a bit confused. They couldn't talk as the people were still in deep sleep.

Lucas got up and signaled John with politeness to move with him outside.

When they were out, Lucas took a second to look at the spacious shelter's territory again until he groaned looking at the big spaces between the defenses.

"What is on your mind again, Lucas?" John asked and sat down near the camp which had no fire right now.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

Lucas didn't sit and with a sigh, he went on with his explanations, "Uncle John, I think we are in a bit of trouble this time around." Lucas said after explaining each and everything he was thinking about to John.

John stayed silent for a while and looked Lucas right in the eyes.

"Sigh... sometimes I envy your father, Lucas... You are so mature for your age which makes me wonder what I did wrong while raising those two."

Lucas stayed silent, he didn't know how to react to this conversation so he did the most sane thing to do.

"Uncle John, you're straying from the main topic. Let's get back to it." Lucas said with an awkward smile.

John chuckled in response looking at Lucas who was trying to change the topic which he was pretty bad at.

After a minute, John's whole aura changed and he went into his serious mode again.
