Chapter 168 - 160 Fenji!
Just as Yao Wumeng’s massive Destruction Sword Fenji was about to sever Sun Wukong’s legs, suddenly, a snow-white King’s Blade appeared out of nowhere and blocked Yao Wumeng’s Fenji. Then, a figure emerged from the void, a man of proper appearance whose boundless domineering aura proved him to be no ordinary character.
"You ask who I am? Haha, ignorant boy, to have entered the Netherworld World and still not know me? Hahaha, but it doesn’t matter. If you don’t recognize me, you should at least recognize this blade, right?"
With that, the domineering man gave his wrist a shake and sent the blocked Fenji flying. Yao Wumeng knew at this moment that this sudden arrival was a formidable expert; just from those few exchanges, Yao Wumeng understood this man’s strength was at least equal to his own.
Cautiously retreating a few steps, Yao Wumeng’s mind raced. The snow-white King’s Blade, the arrogant and overbearing air, the three Iron Rings on the back of the blade, the character for "King" on the handle!
"Could it be, could this blade be the King’s Blade?"
"Haha, I thought you young ones had no insight at all! Since you recognize the blade, you should know what to do next, right?"
Having said this, the Sword Bearer called Old Wang casually watched Yao Wumeng, but then, as if he remembered something, he hastily drew out an item from his bosom—a jade vase as translucent as mutton fat. The man gingerly poured out three drops of a green liquid with great care and reluctance and then dripped them into Sun Wukong’s mouth with a pained face.
At this moment, Sun Wukong was still very clear-headed. Although he didn’t recognize the man, he knew the newcomer was a friend rather than a foe, so he willingly opened his mouth and swallowed the three drops of green liquid.
"You can call me Old Wang. When you’re healed, hurry away with the little princess," the man whispered softly in Sun Wukong’s ear while feeding him the liquid. The sound was so low that if Wukong hadn’t concentrated hard, he might have thought it was an illusion.
After saying this, the man who called himself Old Wang stood up. He didn’t bother with the still-dazed Yao Wumeng and walked straight to Xi Zhao’s side, turned his head, and fed him three drops of the liquid as well. Then, with even greater reluctance, he quickly put away the jade vase.
At this point, Old Wang noticed that Xi Zhao’s bones were shattered all over his body, even his skull was cracked open, and his entire jaw was completely destroyed.
Seeing this scene, a chill ran through Old Wang’s heart. To injure someone to the extent where all the bones in the body, including the jaw and skull, are shattered, yet not die, was certainly no accident. This person’s understanding of the Sword Dao and mastery of force must have reached a peak level, not to be underestimated, otherwise, Old Wang himself might have fallen here today!
After rescuing Xi Zhao, Old Wang, seemingly at ease, slung the snow-white King’s Blade over his shoulder and stood in the direction where the little fox had collapsed. Yet, from beginning to end, he never once glanced at the little fox on the ground, appearing to be indifferent to her!
"Senior, please, please save the little fox!" After swallowing the three drops of green liquid, Sun Wukong’s wounds started healing at an inconceivable speed, allowing him to slowly sit up. So, as soon as Wukong was able to sit up, he immediately looked for the little fox and quickly spotted her lying on the ground further away, then urgently asked Old Wang to save her.
"Don’t worry, the little fox is fine."
With that said, Old Wang’s eyes burned intensely as he stared at Yao Wumeng, and the overbearing aura on his body once again slowly dispersed. "Youngster? Aren’t you leaving? Or do you want me to take action?" A sharp rebuke, like a thunderclap in March, coupled with the majestic and overbearing presence, involuntarily instilled a sense of awe in Sun Wukong’s heart.
Yao Wumeng was clearly shaken and, holding his two massive swords, cupped his fists and then bowed slightly, retreating slowly backwards.
However, the Blade Master called Old Wang did not let down his guard and kept a close watch on Yao Wumeng until he had vanished from everyone’s sight. About a quarter of an hour later, Old Wang used his Divine Consciousness Scouting and, confirming that Yao Wumeng had indeed retreated, allowed himself a slight sigh of relief. Facing Yao Wumeng, Old Wang was also not at ease.
By this time, Xi Zhao’s injuries had healed significantly, and he slowly stood up, bowing his hands at a distance to Old King, but Sun Wukong could detect a touch of humiliation and silent fury in Xi Zhao’s eyes! Although he noticed it, Sun Wukong had no better solution. After asking Xi Zhao, Xi Zhao waved his hand, indicating he was not seriously hurt.
Hurriedly, Sun Wukong ran over to the little fox’s side. When he arrived beside the little fox, Sun Wukong found that the little fox had merely fainted from the overwhelming force but seemed uninjured. Still, he conducted a Divine Consciousness Scouting just to be sure and confirmed indeed there was no harm.
He then took a pouch of clean water from the Space Ring and slowly poured a bit into the little fox’s mouth.
At that moment, Blade Master Old King and Xi Zhao suddenly looked toward Sun Wukong, and Sun Wukong was also startled because the three of them simultaneously felt a space fluctuation. Sun Wukong and Old King were okay, but Xi Zhao suddenly turned pale, as he was very familiar with this space fluctuation. n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
"Monkey, run!" Although Xi Zhao knew something was amiss immediately, it was already too late. In the instant that Sun Wukong was caught off guard, in front of him, on the other side of the little fox, space suddenly tore open, and Yao Wumeng emerged, wielding the Destruction Sword Fenji.
As soon as the space split open, Old King had already rushed over with the snow-white long blade in reverse grip, but Yao Wumeng’s speed was too fast. Moreover, it was a case of the prepared versus the unaware. Even Sun Wukong next to them only managed to raise his arm, instinctively trying to block.
Yet there was no use. Let alone a soul-formed arm, even Jingu Bang might shatter under Fenji’s single slash. And so without a doubt, Sun Wukong’s arm was neatly severed at the elbow. Then the great sword of Fenji continued unimpeded, brutally striking the little fox at the waist.
The blast wave that erupted at that instant threw Sun Wukong several somersaults away, but he didn’t even feel the sharp pain of his severed limb, let alone the tumbling. When he stopped, he turned to stare blankly at the center of the blast wave where the little fox lay, but he couldn’t see it clearly.
It then dawned on Xi Zhao that Destruction Sword Fenji not only had the power to instantly multiply the Sword Bearer’s strength several times but also possessed the rare ability of spatial positioning and teleportation. Anything struck by Fenji would be assigned a spatial coordinate, whether it was a weapon or a soul.
As long as the target was still in the same world, the Sword Bearer could use Fenji’s Divine Skills to tear through space and appear at that spatial coordinate. That was why Yao Wumeng previously boasted that the prey he set his sights on never escaped. With such an ability, there was simply no avoiding it.
Yao Wumeng must have appeared out of nowhere using the spatial teleportation ability and slashed the little fox with a single sword strike, then used even greater speed to strike Sun Wukong and himself with the sword’s body, effectively crippling the pair’s ability to move. Yao Wumeng was truly terrifying.
And just now, his feigned retreat was designed to strike when everyone was at their most relaxed, attempting to kill the little fox whom everyone was protecting in one fell swoop! Such scheming was indeed terrifying!
By now, Blade Master Old King had also exploded into action, his snow-white long blade drawing a streak of cold light before cutting across in an attempt to force Yao Wumeng away.
Yao Wumeng did not have time to check on the little fox, not that there was a need to; he was confident in his strike and knew based on the sensation at the moment of impact that the little fox’s waist had been cut by himself.
Perhaps being cut at the waist by another weapon may not be fatal, but a waist cut by Fenji undoubtedly meant certain death. So Yao Wumeng swung the other hand wielding the giant King’s Blade to block Old King’s attack and used the force to drift back several steps.
"Young fool, you’re too arrogant. How dare you play such tricks in front of my King’s Blade? If I don’t slay you today, what face will I, Old King, have left?"
"Hahahaha, King’s Blade, truly terrifying. It is said that each generation’s heir to the King’s Path possesses the strength of a top-level Domain Lord, but I, Yao Wumeng, am not a weakling either. Today we shall see whether your King’s Blade is more dominant, or my Fenji sharper!"
Having said that, the two peerless powerhouses clashed in battle, while Xi Zhao had already run to the little fox’s side with Sun Wukong in his arms. Looking at the little fox in the dust, cut in two, Sun Wukong’s heart was torn with agony!
