Flashy Adventurer System : Show Off to Get Stronger!

Chapter 300 : Trust

Summoned beings, especially those of the [Spirit] type, weren't sentient as they were merely formed from mana and were only fighting off basic combat instincts and orders.

Hence, Seira's insult didn't affect the Spirit Serpent one bit. Discover what's next on m-vl-em,py-r

However, who it did affect was the owner of the summoned being, the Goblin High Shaman.

Due to its high intelligence, it was able to learn a bit of human language and although it cannot speak the language, it can understand significant bits of conversation.

Instinctively, the monstrous shaman grasped that the young female human was referring to its summoned Spirit Serpent as a worm, utterly enraging it.

"GHARARRK!" The Goblin High Shaman shrieked, ordering the Spirit Serpent to devour the impudent young woman.

Following its boss' orders, the enormous serpent slithered aggressively, its pupil turning into vertical slits as it used its powerful abdomen to pounce on the short female adventurer, its massive maw—wide open.

Again, Seira simply used her skill, [Mana Shift Lv.1], to easily dodge the serpent's fangs, swiftly jumping farther from the summoned creature shortly after.

Naturally, Shye didn't waste the opportunity created by Seira, promptly using one of his gap closer skills, [Rush Stab Lv.3], in hopes of destroying the recovery totem.

*THUD*

Unfortunately, it seemed that he overestimated his strength as his greatswords simply made a dull thud upon making contact with the totem.

The massive totem trembled violently, and though the sharp edges of his weapons left a small mark, that was the extent of the damage.

The healing waves, only reaching the Goblin High Shaman and the Spirit Serpent, kept pulsing as if nothing had occurred.

Shye didn't give up easily, using basic skills such as [Power Slash Lv.4] and [Destructive Chop Lv.3] to try and topple the totem but to no avail.

He wasn't stupid, quickly realizing that melee weapons were likely ineffective against such a totem, hence, Shye quickly changed his entire equipment set to those of a mage.

Subsequently, he aimed both of his elemental staffs toward the sturdy totem, summoning a ferocious barrage of fire and ice with an excited expression.

These two skills of his, when used in tandem, never failed him before.

He believed that the darned totem wouldn't survive the fierce onslaught of his uncommon spells.

Unfortunately, reality slapped him hard as not even his well-trusted combination was able to destroy the insanely tough totem.

'How the f*ck is this thing so hard?!' Shye inwardly complained, glancing at the Goblin High Shaman with an irked expression.

Witnessing the loathsome humans' difficulties, the monstrous shaman cackled evilly, confident that its current setup was as impregnable as a fortress.

Indeed, it would truly be tough for Shye and Seira to break through such a fortified setup, especially due to the darned projectiles flying their way and the annoying lightning field following them everywhere they go.

If the two of them stopped moving, they would be struck by the shaman's darned elemental spells.

As blue mana balls and thunder strikes wreaked havoc in the periphery of the recovery totem, Shye had no choice but to retreat, stirring up clouds of dust as he masterfully backpedaled.

Realizing that Seira was in trouble, Shye used [Blink Lv.4] to instantly appear beside the serpent, slashing downwards with all his might in an attempt to save her.

Luckily, his disruptive attack worked as the serpent jerked its head backward to dodge the blow, giving Seira ample time to retreat.

Almost at the same time, the Goblin High Shaman waved its staff once more, gathering the surrounding mana into blue particles and forming four spirit wolves.

'Tch…This isn't working…we must strike down the darned green old goat…' Shye inwardly thought, his eyes moved swiftly and his brain worked fast as he tried to think of a solution to their thorny problem.

The Spirit Serpent didn't allow him to ponder in peace though, violently thrashing around with a gaping maw as it tried to devour the two humans but to no avail.

Finally, after one more minute of desperately running around, a great idea entered Shye's exhausted mind.

"Seira! Come closer! I have a plan!"

Upon hearing Shye's words, the proud underling attempted to comply to the best of her ability.

However, finding it too challenging, Shye quickly moved and seized her wrists, pulling her along as he fled from the enormous serpent.

"Listen, there's no time for detailed explanations. Your task is to concentrate on cutting the shaman's head clean off. Understand? Pay no attention to anything else and focus solely on defeating the Goblin High Shaman!"

"Roger!"

Right after receiving confirmation from Seira, Shye swiftly turned around and activated his skill, [Dash Lv.4], which had just come off cooldown, narrowly dodging the serpent's attack.

He then threw Seira with all his strength toward the Goblin High Shaman, making her scream in utter shock.

Shortly after though, she recalled her boss' instructions—focus on decapitating the green old goat.

A fiercely determined expression replaced the confusion and disbelief on her face, enabling her to refocus—her eyes—viciously locked onto the Goblin High Shaman's neck.

With intense concentration, Seira quickly discerned the shaman's subtle movements, enabling her to react accordingly to one of its trump cards.

This was the second form of the skill, [Lightning Field Lv.3], which permitted the Goblin High Shaman to gather lightning from the field and store it inside its makeshift staff, firing it in a straight line shortly thereafter.

Then, at the perfect timing, Seira used her trusty [Mana Shift Lv.1] to dodge the lethal bolt, allowing her to continue charging straight toward the green shaman.

The problem was…upon reaching the optimal distance, the wolves viciously pounced, compelling her to use the momentum from Shye's throw to destroy all four wolves in a single slash.

However, just as she was about to act, Seira recalled Shye's instruction to "focus on decapitating the Goblin High Shaman."

'I shall trust you, boss!'

Gripping her greatsword tighter, Seira activated [Power Slash Lv.4] to empower her next attack.

Surprisingly, she refrained from using it to dispatch the wolves, whose jaws were perilously close to tearing her limb from limb.

Instead, her eyes were glued to one thing: the Goblin High Shaman's neck.

Naturally, Shye wouldn't let her down.

Lethally sharp earthen spikes suddenly emerged from the ground, impaling two of the wolves while the other two were finished off by a violent rain of glacial shards.

Remarkably, as Seira was on the verge of traversing the chaotic spell zone, the earthen spikes receded and the ice rain ceased at the perfect moment, enabling her to pass through effortlessly.

"Die! You ugly pervert!!"

"GHIIIIIIHKK!!"

*SPURT!*
