Chapter 1362 Nuisances - Nah, I'm good.
If we'd look at the world map and see where the US—specifically where Hawaii was—and the Philippines—specifically where Subic was—they'd have to be in our area of responsibility, circle around the tip of Luzon just to reach the Subic Area. However, it was just a must for the US Marines because they had an existing naval base to their name while the ones who got ahead of them didn't.
'That's just to our knowledge though, they could be ex-Marines or somewhat affiliated with them for all we know…'
In addition, the opposite of where we are on the map—not to disparage them or anything—was mostly rural areas, and that came with more native speakers than English speakers.
While it is true that a good number of the population could communicate somehow, one way or the other with broken sentences, it was still a gamble if they'd go somewhere remote or somewhere urban where they have a better chance of meeting people who could communicate with them because everyone here would take anyone else because of our known hospitality.
So that got me thinking:
The most pointed-out thing was that the dumbasses who were spreading fear were by the coasts of Subic—but what if they weren't or we were made to think they were all around that area?
Because Rodrick's right, they could have easily docked somewhere where they'd be far from the Marines' devastating firepower and spout their bullshit instead of doing said bullshit while being a few hours away.
'They could also be doing both at the same time too… Wait— I'm overthinking again…'
Scratching the back of my head while looking up in the sky, these nuisances were taking more and more of my time than I thought they would—but so far, the damage they've done was towards the US Marine's reputation which could easily be countered by sending messages of our own.
However, the way everyone could easily be flipped by fear was working against our common goal so this fucking nuisances should be taken care of before the fear they were spreading had spread around—for lack of a better term, to the people who were stupid enough to believe them.
If worst comes to worst, we could be facing against denizens of people who were told we were bad guys and the bullets we saved up would be pointed at them instead of our common enemy.
But yeah, if there was one thing that these people would believe more than good-looking and convincing foreigners were our very own celebrities, well-known politicians, and importantly, our people's champ or even our current president who leads with an iron fist.
The solution was already laid in front of me and all I needed was to give those two a quick call to address the rumors.
I could only imagine what these fucks would do next when the next broadcast would consist of the president cursing them out in their native language or our senator doing almost the same thing with broken English.
It's just that it'd be better if we gather them all in one spot and burn them— I mean, punish them after knowing who's their fucking mastermind who had a lot of time on their hands to talk shit than bust heads with a baseball bat.
Because I swear to fucking god if these people were just doing it for the drama or the fun of it, inevitably delaying my planned trip in a month, the only message they could play telephone is their screams of agony and pleads to just end their lives.
It was one thing to have fun in their own time but it's another fucking thing if they start to disrupt everyone else's lives—especially in the apocalypse.
And back to our conversation, I was deep in my mind palace for a good bit before I came back and discovered that Rodrick was sitting still and waiting for my reply while Tatiana had already came back with KC and was wondering about the deafening silence. In any case, they almost got jumpscared when I suddenly moved but then I chuckled and apologized before I finally gave them a reply:
"Nah, nah, you're good… You actually helped me, in a way… Hmm… If anything, you should've just tried listening more instead of reaching out to them because even I would feel that trap from a mile away… The only advantage we have at the moment is that we know people from different places and we just have to cast out baits and see where it goes…"

"I see… B-But what are you gonna do once you catch them?"
"Oh. Well, I'll probably won't hold back compared to what I did with you and go all the way through."
"I guess it's better to k-kill them, huh?"
"I'm not that murderous of a guy but it depends. I'll put them to work if I could flip them or put them into forced labor if I can't. When all else fails is when I'll try to hug them using a rope. They picked the worst time to be fucking nuisances and it's because of their parents not giving them enough attention…"
"U-Uh-huh…"
With that said, talking with Rodrick confirmed a few things but it opened another can of worms for all of us to worry about. Still, the solution I thought up might just free us all of the work to put into those nuisances and the ones hiding them—as long as they weren't supporters of the vice president—might just deliver them in whatever way possible once we handed them their wanted posters.
"S-So… Can I have the keys to my truck, now?"
I threw the set of keys back, "Here ya go— thanks for the info."n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
KC cut in, "You talking to me next, right?"
"Did skipped on telling me some things he told you?"
She shook her head with a chuckle, "Nope, I just wanted to see if we could go for round 2— I mean, round 4 since you… You know, filled me up three times."
I waved her off, "Nah, I'm good. We'll keep in touch, alright? Congrats on your new job position?"
"W-What position?"
"You own this place now, I'll talk to Mauricio about it."
And with that, we left both KC and Rodrick to their own devices as we finally packed up and drove home with Quinn's 911 and Lori's Ducati after saying goodbye to Mauricio and Irene. We did talk briefly to discuss KC's situation and he just couldn't believe the things that would happen when I'm around. It was like I was the main character of some novel but I digress, shit do happen elsewhere too.
What do you think?
