Ah! The Villains I Forced to Turn Evil Can Read My Mind

Chapter 118

The three men were stunned.

Hallucinations?

Pei Ci looked her up and down, clearly concerned about her mental state: "Are you running a fever or something?"

Pei Mu reached out and touched her forehead, confirming, "No fever, she's actually quite cold."

Weisheng Huailing tilted his head, also puzzled.

Qiao Chuchu bit her lower lip, utterly confused.

[It felt so real. The killer first poured sulfuric acid on me, then hacked me to pieces with a cleaver. Even when the blade dulled, he didn’t stop. I was literally chopped to death.]

[But I didn’t lose any life points, and I didn’t see the system. Yet, I clearly saw the door being pried open a crack.]

[If it wasn’t for something sinister, why would someone peek through the door like that?!]

[But there’s no smell of alcohol in the room anymore.]

[Was it really just a hallucination?]

The more she thought about it, the more her head hurt, and she couldn’t make sense of it. "I’m sorry, maybe it really was just a hallucination."

Huailing’s face darkened as he cupped her face, gesturing for her to look at him. 「You don’t need to apologize.」

He signed, 「But if you’re having hallucinations, it might not be a good thing. How about we see a doctor tomorrow?」

Qiao Chuchu was taken aback, her confusion deepening. "I need to see a doctor?"

Pei Ci’s expression was grave. "Of course you do. You’re starting to hallucinate. Tomorrow, we’re going to the psychiatric hospital."

Pei Mu nodded in agreement.

The three men stared at her intently.

After all, the way Qiao Chuchu had described her experience was so vivid, as if it had truly happened to her.

But she hadn’t used her chance to be reborn, and even she was unsure if it was a hallucination.

Maybe it really was just a hallucination?

But even if it was, it wasn’t a good sign.

Weisheng Huailing stepped forward and reached for Qiao Chuchu’s hand.

Qiao Chuchu instinctively pulled back. "Don’t touch me!"

Huailing was startled, his brows furrowing in confusion. 「Are you mad at me, Chuchu?」

She froze, then looked up at him, flustered, and waved her hands. 「No, I’m not.」

Qiao Chuchu was completely disoriented.

[I’m so scared. It felt so real, but reality tells me it was a hallucination. Have I really gone mad?]

[Am I so crazy that I can actually feel someone trying to kill me?]

[Is it paranoia? Or schizophrenia?]

Qiao Chuchu’s palms were drenched in cold sweat, her whole body as if she’d just been pulled out of water. She quickly grabbed her skirt and left. "I’m sorry, I’m going downstairs."

Pei Mu and Pei Ci called out, "Wait!"

They immediately chased after her.

Huailing followed closely behind.

Qiao Chuchu hurried down the stairs, her skirt in hand, and dashed into the women’s restroom in the banquet hall. She stared at herself in the mirror.

Her hair was disheveled, her face pale, though her makeup was still impeccable.

But her eyes were wide open, her lips pressed into a frown, her entire expression filled with fear and anxiety.

Out of the corner of her eye, she spotted a man’s leather shoe appearing around the corner.

Her face turned pale, and she spun around!

The man lunged at her with a knife: "Qiao Chuchu, you ruined me!!!"

Without hesitation, she grabbed the man’s wrist and twisted it hard!

The knife fell from his hand, but he threw a bottle of sulfuric acid at her!

Qiao Chuchu screamed!

She couldn’t see again!!

A blade slashed into her chest, slamming her into the sink!

The man pulled the knife out of her chest and continued hacking at her: "Die! Die! Die!!!"

Pei Ci burst through the door: "Chuchu!!"

The man turned around, his eyes wild, and charged at Pei Ci with the knife: "Ahhhhhh!"

Weisheng Huailing fired a shot, hitting the man square in the forehead.

The man collapsed to the ground.

The three men rushed to Qiao Chuchu, who was lying under the sink.

Her face was unrecognizable, her body covered in horrifying wounds and blood.

Pei Ci’s body stiffened as he checked her pulse.

It was faint, but it was there.

But after just two weak beats under his fingers, Qiao Chuchu’s pulse stopped completely, as if someone had pressed a power button.

Pei Ci was in shock.

Pei Mu stared at Qiao Chuchu’s lifeless body, utterly devastated. He grabbed his hair, screaming, "Why didn’t I believe her?! I thought it was just a hallucination!! I killed her!!!"

Pei Ci trembled as he picked up Qiao Chuchu.

Her face was ruined.

It was impossible to even tell if it was her.

Pei Ci gently stroked her hair, his mind completely blank. "Chuchu? Chuchu?"

He looked at Pei Mu. "Do you think she can come back?"

Didn’t she still have a chance to be reborn?

Could she come back?

Pei Mu’s face was pale, holding Qiao Chuchu’s hand without answering.

Pei Ci’s mind was empty, but a thought began to surface.

"Chuchu must still be scared, right?"

His eyes were unfocused as he muttered, "She was just killed by the murderer, and now the murderer is dead. In that world, he won’t let her go."

A strange light flickered in his dim eyes. "I have to help her."

Pei Ci snatched the gun from Huailing’s hand, pressed it to his temple, and pulled the trigger.

"Bang."

Pei Ci slumped against the sink, still holding Qiao Chuchu.

Pei Mu stared at the two lifeless bodies, his gaze calm as he scanned them. He picked up the gun and looked at Huailing. "You can read lips, right? Please tell my brother that we’re going down to help Qiao Chuchu deal with the bad guys."

Pei Mu pulled the trigger, his body collapsing softly into Qiao Chuchu’s arms.

Aside from Qiao Chuchu’s disfigured face, the two men looked as if they were peacefully asleep.

Weisheng Huailing finally snapped out of it, slowly crouching down to look at Qiao Chuchu.

The sound…

He was struggling to breathe, clutching his chest, unsure of what this feeling was. His heart felt like it was being torn apart, and he desperately gripped Qiao Chuchu’s hand, tears streaming down his face.

-

Qiao Chuchu lay peacefully on the ground in the system world, motionless like a dead fish.

The system floated around her. "I’ve never seen someone with the ability to foresee the future still die because of it. You’re the first idiot. How about giving me an autograph?"

Her eyes were dull. "You’re an idiot too. When you give someone the ability to foresee the future, you don’t even warn them. Didn’t you think she might think she’s going crazy?"

The system sighed. "How was I supposed to know you had this ability? It’s only now, after you died and came back, that I checked your body and found you’ve gained a new power. It’s probably because you’re already outside the original plot, and you’ve changed most of the story, triggering new developments. That’s why you can see your own future in emergencies."

Qiao Chuchu sat up. "I’ve noticed that the last few times I died, it was because someone killed me."

She looked dazed. "I’m so tired. It’s like I’ve become an ox, plowing five hundred acres a day, while my owner keeps whipping me."

The system: "...Sorry, I laughed."

She glared at it. "You’re laughing? This is all your fault! You’ve made me an outcast! I can’t go back to that world, and this world doesn’t want me. I’ve lost everyone, and I’m still being hunted!"

The system shivered, chuckling nervously. "Don’t be mad, I’ll give you something!~"

Qiao Chuchu: "?"

It produced an umbrella. "This umbrella is a special item. It can only be used once. If sulfuric acid is thrown at it, the liquid will turn into water, protecting you. Take it."n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

Qiao Chuchu took it. "That’s it? This is your idea of making it up to me?"

She hit the system with the umbrella handle. "I’ve worked so hard for you, completing so many tasks. You’ve made a fortune off me! And this is all the compensation I get?"

The system: "...Alright, alright. I’ll adjust your prediction mode. From now on, when you foresee the future, it won’t be immersive. You’ll experience it from a third-person perspective, so you won’t be as mentally overwhelmed."

It added softly, "Also, just so you know, you can predict the future of any character who has a favorable impression of you, because their futures are also being rewritten. Some parts no longer align with the original plot."

Qiao Chuchu’s eyes narrowed sharply. "But what does that have to do with my compensation? Isn’t that something I should’ve had anyway?"

The system: "...You don’t seem scared at all. You’re quite sharp, aren’t you?"
